January has become one of the least busiest times of the year at The Happiest Place on Earth.
If you’re looking for light crowds and short lines at pretty much all the rides and attractions, it’s a great time to visit Disneyland in the month of January. The madness that is the holiday season at the park is finally over with, making way for a much less crowded Disneyland Resort. There’s some dates you may want to try to avoid, though.
Dates To Avoid
January 1- weekend – Yes, it’s finally a new year, but those pesky holiday crowds are still around for just a couple more days. The first weekend of the year is usually packed, so try to avoid it.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend – Most weekends in January are relatively peaceful, with the exception of MLK weekend. It’s a federal holiday, so lots of people will usually get a four-day weekend.
That said, MLK Day isn’t one of the busiest holidays at Disneyland, but be prepared for crowds.
