Crowd Guide

  1. Southern California annual passports are no longer available. That will definitely have an effect on the crowds, in my opinion. People either have to upgrade to Deluxe (which costs a lot more money) or downgrade to Select (which has a lot of blockout dates). I think the number of passholders will start to drop even more now.

  2. I think this is a good move. The parks have just gotten way too crowded these last few years, so hopefully these changes will provide some relief. I feel that they should have gotten rid of the Select AP though instead of SoCal.

  3. A small price hike will not have an effect on the crowds/lines in the short term. They do it every year and Disneyland is still as crowded as ever. What is interesting though is the elimination of the SoCal AP. This will no doubt slow AP sales and keep crowds at where they are now or lighten them up a little, but I think most people will still renew.

  4. I would switch the status to yup it’s packed.

  5. Disneyland has sold way too many annual passes, in my opinion. I think ever since they started the monthly payment plans for APs, things have gotten out of hand with how crowded it is. They should get rid of monthly payments for good and eliminate SoCal Select.

  6. I am planning on going this Sunday. I read online that all APs are blocked.(except premium.) Will this reduce crowds?

  7. Yeah, the blockouts usually help keep the crowds down, but it is a holiday weekend so there should be a lot of people from out of town/non-APers. I’m hoping everyone gets their Disney fix at the 24 hour event on Friday/Saturday so Sunday is more manageable!

  8. Do you guys think Disneyland will be really packed for the 24 hr event? We have never gone to one of these events before so we are preparing for the worst.

  9. Yes! It is VERY crowded when they have 24-hour events. You have to arrive early because there is always a chance they will close the park early if it gets too crowded. They usually reach capacity or come close to it for these events.

  10. The last time we went to the 24 hour event, Disneyland was a zoo! Barely any room to walk and well over 1-hour waits for everything. So definitely plan on it to be extremely packed if you are going.
