Crowd Guide

  1. Though I think it is great that they offer annual passes, I think that monthly payments make it affordable for everyone. That’s the real problem. If even the least expensive pass had to be paid for in full at the time of purchase, the problem with crowds would go away. Also they should have only a few special days for So Cal residents to get discounts. They should then let that schedule be known to all so that the people who want to make Disneyland a special trip and not an overcrowded nightmare would be able to pick the perfect day.

  2. It’s not as much about crowd control as everyone thinks, otherwise they would do exactly that…eliminate monthly payments. It’s just simple good business….the market will easily bear the increase…EASILY. People will still pay the price…they have proven that fact, have they not? If they remove the payment plan from all AP plans, they will have effectively reduced crowds because they will lose their biggest customer base –the AP holders… not tourists and 1x/year locals. That would be a big revenue hit. They don’t care about the crowds, really. If they did, they could simply drop their “at capacity” number by 20% and call it a day. This new structure just happens to generate more revenue –at the same time thinning the herd A little. And maybe that thinning will be just enough to be a little noticeable…but I wouldn’t bet on it.
I think it’s funny that people think seem to think that they themselves have the answers and that a bunch of monkeys are making these decisions…absolutely not. Disney is a publically traded company with obligations to shareholders to grow revenue every year. It’s not all about one man acting from his own greed. The parks will always be crowded and Disney likes it that way.

  3. Not anymore…people love the rain at Disneyland during hot weather. It will be just as packed, as people swarm to go –thinking it will be less crowded. Learned my lesson twice this summer.

  4. Hi! How busy will it be this Friday, October 16th? Planning to go right when it opens (=

  5. I’d be prepared for it to be fairly crowded. Some schools have fall break this week, It’s usually a little more manageable in the morning though.

  6. Looking at going either the first or second weekend in November! Is one better than the other as far as crowds go? I’ve heard the parks have been crazy busy!

  7. I’m thinking the first weekend will be a little better. Get there early!

  8. Is there a reason why the 20th is closing 2 hours later than the 21st? Is it going to be busier?

  9. I think that’s because the park closes early on Monday for Mickey’s Halloween Party, so hours have been extended on Tuesdays. I think Wednesday might be a little more manageable, but there shouldn’t be too much of a difference.
