Get there BEFORE opening time. Give yourself time to park, take the tram or bus if you park off Harbor in the Toy Story Lot. This is your time to take advantage of fast pass for the most popular rides (the earlier you are, the closer the fastpass return times will be to the actual time so you can squeeze in more rides) by 12pm you will be ready to sit take a break and wait for the Christmas parade, have some lunch then tackle some more rides.

Is December 29th visit to California Adventures park really that bad? With strategic use of fastpasses how long do you think the wait will be?
California Adventure isn’t as crazy as Disneyland, so I think you’ll be good with Fastpasses. I’d still be prepared for it to be very crowded though. Try to arrive in the morning and get to the rides you want to go on right away.
January 5th will it be crowded in Disneyland ?
I don’t think it will be too bad on that day. That’s usually when the big holiday season crowds start to die down.
I hadn’t been to Disneyland in 22 years but got free tickets, went today was there for 8 hours & rode only 4 rides. The amount of people there was beyond ridiculous.I will never go there again due to the overcrowding & overpriced everything there. What a shame
You went at the wrong time. There are good days to go and bad days. You just got to do your research.
