Crowd Guide

  1. Not sure if any conventions are going on but they have the Mickey’s Halloween Party on Monday & Wednesday. It should be fine during the day especially if you get there early

  2. I was just there last week & it was packed

  3. Traveling from Europe to spend christmas and new year in Los Angeles. Wanted to go to Disneyland for 3 or 4 days. I was thinking to be there maybe on 3th-6th of January. Crow tracker says that it’s going to be packed so how bad is it going to be? Or is better to try to have extra days off from the school and go later? For example on 9th-12th of January? how huge the difference is with the crowds between those dates?

  4. If you want to see the Christmas decorations/attractions, you have to go on the first week of January since the holiday season ends on January 8. It will be more crowded, but I think 3-4 days would be enough to see everything even with the crowds. January 9-12 is expected to be a lot more manageable though if you don’t care for the Christmas stuff.

  5. It use to be that you could take time off work, pull the kids out of school mid week and go to DL and it be empty. NOT ANYMORE!! Yesterday went, and I was so irritated, frustrated, wanted to go home, from the ” happiest place on earth” yesterday ( thurs) was like a weekend crowd. I didn’t buy my passes to wait hours in line for rides, restaurants, restrooms.
Best times to go are right after schools go back after summer, or after holiday break. Sucks because I would like to enjoy the holiday seasons, but it’s not worth it anymore. Not to mention in Oct, 100 degrees? Omg!!!

  6. Kim I understand your frustration…Sadly, those days you talk about are gone…their is no good time to go anymore, I always fantasize if Walt was alive if he would let in so many folks per day? Maybe, but i hope he would put a stop to it. I have posted the same message as you in the past on this message board, but I asked the question to others what they thought created the mess. One responder I think nailed it…Ever since they created payments plans for us pass holders is when the park crowds started to really grow and get out of hand. A friend of mine who has some inside Disney info told me that Disneyland Anaheim used to be a World Wide Destination for guests, but now over 85% of visitors there are pass holders and that Disney World is now the desired location. They need to get rid of all the passes except the highest one with no payment plan. i know this is harsh, many will not agree with me but it would be the only way to fix this probblem unless they lowered the daily guest attendance entry. It has become ridiculous to bring children there and wait in a 2-hour ride line for a 4 to 5 minute ride! I am not renewing my pass, I have had enough. I decided it would be better to pick (one day out of the year) to go and hope for a “ghost Town day”….On a busy day, I have noticed folks are so pissed off at the crowds it is not fun, to wait 30- plus minutes for a cup of coffee at Starbucks is just unnerving. Ok…I have ranted for the day…Best of Luck

  7. Yeah man, its not fun anymore! it’s a stress fest!

  8. Makes me sad that there is no such thing as an empty Disneyland anymore. These crowds make visits to the parks miserable! For a place that’s supposed to be magical and the happiest place on earth, it’s no fun anymore!

  9. As long as Iger remains the CEO for Disney, nothing will be done to control these crowds! He’s made some very bad decisions for the parks and I completely agree with you. They need to have one pass, hike up the price and take away the payment plans! These crowds make park visits miserable! You can’t even walk anywhere anymore! Disney should be fined for safety violation by the city of Anaheim oh but that’s right, Disneyland is responsible for 90% of the city’s revenue so Disneyland can violate any codes they want!
