If you can’t possibly go before then, that would be the week to go as opposed to later in the month. I’d still be prepared for it to be fairly busy though (around 30-60min waits is the norm). Get there early!
Thanks so much. Unfortunately, those are the earliest dates we can get down there (It’s the first week of our winter break..we get three weeks). We’re staying in a hotel that’s just a 10 minute walk away, so we will be at the gates before opening on both days.
I’ve gone during that week and it’s okay. Any chance you could go for 3 days? That would give you a better chance of experiencing everything. Disneyland crowds have more to do with local annual passholders than tourism, and that week is the last before the two local passes are blocked for the holidays. You will find it busier as school and work gets out, but the mornings will be nice. Have a great time! Get that pic in front of the snowy castle.
I couldn’t agree more. I’m having a hard time justifying the $8000.00 we spend each year on flights, hotels and park hoppers for 5 days at Disneyland, and waiting 60 minutes for many of the rides. Last time we went, my toddler was nearly trampled to death in a crowd when she let go of my hand on Main Street. The magic is fading for us. Very sad. 🙁
Which day will be less crowded (slightly) for Disney’s California Adventure, Wednesday, December 21 or Thursday, December 22?
I’m thinking earlier in the week would be better, so I’d go on Thursday. There probably won’t be much of a difference though. It’s expected to be very crowded that week. Get there early!

It should be pretty crowded on that day (especially in the evening) since it’s the first Friday of the holiday season. Get there early!
Headed to Disneyland tomorrow, anyone know if it’ll be less crowded because it’s Election Day? Today was waaaay busier than it had forecasted it to be. So much for “ghost town”.
