Crowd Guide

  1. Yeah, I think the $50 tickets for locals is making the parks more crowded on Ghost Town days, but it’s still pretty manageable. I’m just glad it’s not too crazy!

  2. I blame the closure of 4 of the joint parks’ bigger rides (Matterhorn, pirates, grizzly peaks, and tower of terror) and the parade for some weirdly long wait times during slow season.

  3. We are going on a couple of “Ghost Town” days, but the last couple of years I have noticed that those days are just as busy if not more busy than the weekends. As long as locals keep getting these ridiculous deals that Disney keeps offering it will never be enjoyable at Disneyland. We will leave and go to Knotts if it is packed at Disneyland.

  4. The special SoCal resident pricing is ruining Disneyland! It’s way too crowded on days when it’s not supposed to be!

  5. Totally agree!!! I cannot wait for the blackout period to start in April and how these passes expire in May. We went today and it was INSANE by 10:30-11:00 AM. Luckily we arrived super early and hopped on some rides but lines for security were terribly long at 8:30 (!) and DCA got packed very quickly. I can’t figure it why Disney offered these packages!?! As if the stupid monthly payments for the passes didn’t create enough crowds! Hoping it clears up again soon.

  6. Took my kids out of school and flew halfway way across the country because it was supposed to be slow, what joke! So crazy busy I almost cried. Disney is not the same. I’m not bringing my kids here anymore. Too much money for all of the misery!

  7. They are selling tickets at half-price to locals this season, that’s why it’s so crowded when it’s supposed to be nice. Such a shame!

  8. My family was there on Sunday and Monday. Paid nearly $1000 for 3 day Park Hoppers and got exactly 4 rides in for the entire day. Monday was only slightly better. For people like us who plan our trip during what used to be considered “off season” the Annual Passes and special deals Disney offers to SCAL residents completely ruin our trip. There is no way for us to predict a real “slow ” time any longer. I’m about to give up!!! Heartbreaking for the family but what a waste of our hard earned dollars.

  9. sucks when you’re not a SoCal resident … if i could of given you advise prior to your visit… i would have said to come super early and beat the crowds! so you could at least gotten on all the super popular rides…

  10. well in our defense … in a way its good because at least with this special going on it scares away the crowds that come from different countries or states or parts of california 😉 and leaves the parks for us locals… haha… im going next monday and i know its going to be stupid packed but at least i know how to beat the crowd;) a plus plus for being an AP!
